Jesus cast out a demons into pigs in one of wildest stories in the Bible. The casting out of a screaming crazy man in a cemetery gives me the "willies." He was legion and legion went into the pigs. I suppose this is an amazing story for folks that might say..."I will believe when pigs fly!"
As bizarre as Jesus healing in a demonic in a cemetery and using pigs a complete contrast is the women who is healed just by..."touching the hem of Jesus garment."
There is that word again..."immediately."
"Immediately the girl stood up and walked around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished."
The messianic secret is introduced at the end of chapter five. Why did Jesus tell others to keep quiet and Matthew record "let your light shine." This is what makes reading the Bible so intriguing. Do you know the reason? One possibility is Jesus was avoiding a circus like atmosphere, as much as possible, until His time had fully come.
In any event...Mark is moving along at a breathless pace!
