  1. Today's reading, the creation story... is what I happen to be teaching this week and preaching on during the next few weeks... we are doing Adam Hamilton's "Making Love Last a Lifetime" and he points out that God intentionally designed men and women differently... that we complement one another... and even in singleness men and women need the gifts and strengths found in people of the opposite sex. Adam Hamilton goes on to talk about this in the church... "in the pastoral ministry, as elsewhere, we are incomplete until both men and women are represented." It helps me as a person and a pastor to know that I am what I am by design. I marvel at God's creativity and sense of humor when I meditate on creation!

  2. What wonderful thoughts Angy! Equal but different. Men and women can be equal, complement the wide range of needs in the Body of Christ, and celebrate uniqueness at the same time. Does the "remote control" not illustrate men and women have different preferences?

I too was thinking of Adam Hamilton today. He is helpful in distinquishing Genesis as a Book of faith stories and not for the purpose of scienctific explanation. This means faith does not have to be in conflict with science. The Bible was never intended to be a book of Science.
